26th November, like any other day ,my son was taking a nap, and I was checking my mails the clock showed 4p.m.(EST) in place where I live Philadelphia,USA. I opened my favorite Indian news site, and was shocked to see the home page .
It said” Attack on Mumbai”, I quickly read the topic which said 3 brave police men have been killed by terrorists, and it all started at 9:15p.m. In Colaba in Leopold Café one of the famous café for tourists.. and the terror is being continued..
My son got up from his nap and was smiling at me, I looked at his innocent smile and hugged him tight, there must have been so many innocent smiles which turned into loud cry on that day.I switched on the TV and to my surprise I saw an English channel CNN showing up to date information about terror.I really appreciate it.Am sure it shook the whole world as their respective citizens were prey .
I could not believe my eyes it was happening all LIVE, the great landmark of the city TAJ HOTEL ‘s roof top was on fire,I could really hear the gunfire and grenade sound’s as reporter was reporting live from Nariman house,TAJ and TRIDENT hotels where terrorists killed many and held hostages.
My husband got the news already in his office ,he was in utter shock he came home and quickly switched on the Internet..
We were very angry on terrorists,my husband repeatedly said “I wish I was in India”.Our parents,relative and friends live in INDIA.We were really missing them and scared too.This incident happened in MUMBAI,and who knows it may happen in any part of India.
Does this raise question that India is threat prone country?Does this indicates catastrophic failure of our government ?In my view yes,India is really in danger especially the capital cities in India.Do these politicians whom people of India elected
Are we really going to take any protective measures against terror attacks…?
This is not the first terror attack as of such in India,it started from 1993 and still going on.I saw a video of a politician who says “In a big city like this one or two incidents like this happen”he is expressing as if it is quite normal,Our government too got information from intelligence before head about this attack,strangely they ignored.Actually we became resilient,but now after this 26/11 I believe every Indian realized to be NO MORE RESILIENT.
I think it is time to stand united and think wisely before electing any politician ,we need a representative of common man,who understands what it means if a loved one is lost ,who can take challenges in situation like this,who is alert ,who can come out and fight against odds,he should be that intelligent,brave and smart and not a high profile man who needs commandos for his security and domestic use,who speaks for people before elections and does things for himself later .My deepest condolences to all the families who lost their loved ones and I salute the brave men who risked their life in saving others.I SALUTE YOU.
